Delicious food and attentive service. Highly recommend if you're looking for a lovely dinner. We decided on the pre-fixed 5 course meal with wine pairings. You got to customize some options which was great to tailor the meal to your tastes. The Sea Bass was fantastic.
This place is exquisite and far exceeds our expectations. We reserved a table of four for dinner, and we were greeted and seated immediately. The staff were so nice and friendly here and that made us feel very welcomed as tourists. The drinks were amazing and the bartender knew their drinks. The food was delicious and well-cooked. At the end, they gave us shots on house, and the shots were so delicious. We were so satisfied with this restaurant and how attentive the servers are. We had a marvelous time here and we strongly suggest this place for everyone who would love an exceptional dining experience.
Absolutely loved my experience at Doma Escalante! I stopped by for coffee earlier in the day and had an incredible Cortado—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. You can really taste the quality in every sip. The entire coffee menu is high-quality, but this was next level. The service made it even better. The team was so welcoming and even gave me a tour of the restaurant, which has a super cute vibe—modern, cozy, and perfect for relaxing. Huge shoutout to Brandon for his spot-on recommendations and for making the experience feel personal and genuine. And a huge thank you to Gabriel for providing us with excellent recommendations and attentive service. I ended up coming back for dinner, and I’m so glad I did! The grilled Caesar salad came with the juiciest, most flavorful chicken, and the Chilean seabass was hands down the best I’ve had. It was served with quinoa and a coconut sauce that was beautifully balanced (and I normally don’t even like coconut sauces!). We finished the night with their berry meringue dessert, which was light, fresh, and the perfect sweet ending. If you’re in San José, Doma Escalante is a must—for coffee, dinner, or both! I’ll definitely be back.
Gorgeous gardens and ambiance, great personalized service, and delicious food and cocktails. I was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend the Entraña, the Truffle Fries, and the Hugo Spritz!
DOMA is a whole different experience. Pricey place but the explosion of favors is assured on their dishes. Small portions tho. the Octopus Ceviche is delicious! The Ravioli is their signature dish. It is to die for. They don’t offer house bread with the pasta. That’s a lil turn off. The chocolate cake was TOO hard. They need to reformulate the recipe and make it softer.
My server, Gabriel, was attentive & provided suggestions. I treated myself to a starter, a main, and a desert, and all three were delicious! Definitely recommend the Tuna Tartar! I will dream of it!
